CAN THE SKEWERS BECOME BENT OUT OF SHAPE?

Yes. If you bend them too far or too sharply skewers may become bent. It's almost always possible to easily bend them back into shape either by hand or with pliers. Replacement skewers are available if necessary.

Replacement skewers are available, bases are not.
